Google Sheets Cell Size Is Wrong

less than 1 minute read

One simple way to format cells is to resize the cells. And just like the softwares from Apple, and Microsoft, Google Sheets allow users to precisely adjust the size of the cells.1

The problem with Google Sheets is its cell’s row and column size are not correct. Please check this Google Sheets spreadsheet.

As you can see, in Google Sheets, if a cell that has the same number of length and height, that cell is not square. A cell must have a height that equals length plus 1 pixel to be square.

I sent a feedback to Google and hopefully they will fix it. In the past, I sent a feedback to fix the problem with exporting/printing a spreadsheet with emoji, another feedback to fix the problem with Google Sheets for iOS does not work with IMAGE function. So far, they fixed nothing.

  1. Only the mobile version of Apple Numbers allows user to precisely adjust the size of the cells, the mobile version of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets require users to drag to adjust the size of the cells.
